
Mr. Scott is a partner with the firm. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut with a B.A. He then attended South Texas College of Law, where he was a member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, and graduated with a Juris Doctor.
Mr. Scott has considerable experience in litigation involving defense of insureds and self-insureds in all risk categories covered by commercial lines and personal lines insurance coverages. His emphasis is on commercial auto, personal auto, construction, manufacturing, products liability, premises, security, fire and arson and maritime. He also handles insurance coverage opinions and representation of insurers in declaratory judgment and other coverage and insurance bad faith/extra-contractual litigation. Mr. Scott has experience in wills and probate matters, as well.
Approved by the Texas Department of Insurance as a continuing education course provider, Mr. Scott regularly assists those holding Texas insurance licenses with satisfaction of their continuing education requirements.
Mr. Scott is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts as well as in the U.S. Southern District of Texas, the U.S. Northern District of Texas, the U.S. Eastern District of Texas, and the U.S. Western District of Texas.
jscott@greerscottlaw.comMs. Shropshire is a partner with the firm. She was raised in Dallas, Texas, and graduated with honors from Texas Tech University with a B.S. Her law degree was obtained from Southern Methodist University in 1984, where she was a member of an honors fraternity.
Ms. Shropshire worked as a research attorney for Justices Ed Kinkeade and Joe Burnett, and then as a staff attorney for all of the justices, on the Fifth Court of Appeals of the State of Texas.
Ms. Shropshire has substantial experience in appeals and litigation involving complex legal and factual issues. Her docket has included major commercial and personal injury claims, employment litigation and malpractice litigation in both State and Federal Courts. She also has extensive experience in real estate and construction transactions and litigation and represents authors in negotiating publishing contracts.
Ms. Shropshire is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. She is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the United States Fifth and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals. In 1990, she authored an article for a legal textbook published by Matthew Bender on emotional distress in the employment context.
